It's exciting to see that after 604 years the white stork has returned to the UK! These beautiful birds fly from as far as South Africa. That's some serious mileage! A theory behind their decline points to over hunting.
Turns out storks like a crowd! Not only do they feel safe amongst their stork buddies, it's also a good insurance policy for finding another mate...just in case their partner bites the dust. Looks like their instincts have brought them home to the UK once again. It's a great celebration, for they have been gone from sight for such a very long time. And in this case, there's no place like home.
