Wow! Today is NASA's birthday! 64 years and counting! That's a short time look at how much we have accomplished. Think about it, today we're venturing into space tourism! What a leap! What Does NASA stand for?

The Soviet Union created very compelling motivations on October 4, 1957, after launching the first satellite from an R7 ballistic missile. This little satellite was called Sputnik Zemlyi we know as Sputnik I! Sputnik I could be seen from earth and its signals of beeps could be heard by HAM radio operators from around the globe. AMAZING! In fears the the Soviet Union could launch nuclear missiles to the United States not to mention a little ego bruising as the States liked to think they were on the front lines of technology immediately dove into the out-of-this-world technology! Thus formed the institution NASA! The First American in Space was the 2nd globally The Russians Beat the US Again with First man in Space!
The United States Puts Man in orbit!
On May 5, 1961 aboard Freedom 7, Alan Shepard, became the 2nd man in space. Go Alan! John F. Kennedy Pushed First Man on Moon
On September 12, 1962. John F. Kennedy famously said:
“We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.” - John Kennedy
On July 20, 1969 NASA sent the first crew to the moon. With Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Neil and Buzz became the first to walk on the moon! Not without NASA putting them there.
Today we celebrate NASA and their team that started the exploration of space, the ultimate frontier. Would you go?
