On this day...Rome was founded April 21, 753 B.C.

There are several dates but this is the traditional date! On April 21, 753 B.C. orphan twin brothers, Romulus and Remus, were nursed by a she-wolf at the base of Palatine Hill. They were later raised by shepherds, and became great warriors. Together they founded a town on the spot that they were saved from. Romulus killed his twin Remus over a small argument. Making him the solo ruler of the town and naming it after himself! Rome!

That's the super-duper cliff notes! Want to dive into the mythical story? It includes gods, a woodpecker and battles! Check it out HERE!
